I have a 2001 pontiac bonneville with a 3.8l non turbo. It quit and I changed the fuel pump. When I crank it over, it starts than immediately dies. I have checked fuel filter and fuses and relays. What could cause this?

Check the fuel pressure to rule out the fuel filter/fuel pump/pressure regulator and listen to the injector/s are they pulsing or hook up a noid light.

Check the connection to and you oil pressure sensor. The fuel pump will only continue to run after cranking if the engine develops oil pressure. Passenger side above the oil filter. Either 4 or 5 wires runnin from it
