I have a 2001 olds aurora, and the battery keeps draining overnight. I checked for a parasitic drain and its within spec at 30mA. The battery tests good and the alternator output is ok. Also when you start the vehicle you have to wait for a solid security light on the dash before it will crank. Do you know of any problems that night be causing this battery to drain?

Did you check the alternator for feed back, a faulty diode will do this and drain the battery, it will still give you a charge rate albeit a bit lower than normal.

I am having this same problem. My question for "mhpautos" is, I have replaced my alternator and the battery is still draining within 24 hours.
