What could cause a car to stop after warming up?

I have a 2001 oldsmobile alero, that runs fine in town, but once on the highway it shuts down, I have to wait for 15 minutes before the car will start back up, any ideas on what could be wrong

It could be several things actually, however I would first find out if it has lost spark or fuel when it dies. I will take making it die (stop running) before you can find out which has stop happening. Once we know which problem we are dealing with then we can try to figure out why it is happening.
