2001 Mercedes Benz S600 trunk locked

Our battery is dead and goes in our trunk. The trunk is locked and won't open with a key. How can we open our trunk?

You can either supply power to the fuse box in the engine compartment or through the cigarette lighter to get the trunk open.

It should open with the spare key though, even with no battery power.
