2001 Mercedes Benz CLK230 indicator

My right indicator will not turn off even when the stalk is pulled down to go left, when I put the hazard lights on they all work fine. Ive been told the stalk just needs replacing which is fine but I've also been told that its something else which would cost ALOT of money. Any ideas what it would be.

Hello,

I just got through replacing the turn signal switch in my wife's 2004 c230 took about an hour and the switch was 85.00, the steering wheel comes off without a puller btw, hope this helps
