2001 Mazda Familia brake problem

A few days ago both ABS and brake light came on, it would stay on for long period and goes off at times. I have recently changed brake pads but there is a noise at times when I apply the brakes and I have to pump for it to hold, what can be the problem?

Your brake system has a fluid leak. Look at each wheel caliper or wheel cylinder to find the leak. Also, check each brake line for leaks (start at the master cylinder and follow the lines from there).

If no leaks are found, yet the brake pedal goes to the floor, suspect an internal leak in the master cylinder. If you get to this point and need more assistance, please let me know.
