Transmission****** when it moves from gear 1 to other gears. What do I do?

CD4E transmission****** when it moves from gear 1 to other gears. There is also this grinding sound I hear when I want to accelerate fast from rest. My mechanic checked the transmission mounts and said they are ok. What do I do?

The synchronizers are shot and it needs a rebiuld.
