2001 Hyundai Sonata Car wont accelerate.

When I try to accelerate the car falls on its face. Whenever I partially let off the gas the car wants to get up and go but soon begins to stumble. What do you think is the problem?

No we haven't had any backfires also when I attempt to accelerate it sounds like it's not getting any fuel

I don't know what not getting any fuel sounds like. An engine can be dieing for any number of causes. Testing the fuel pressure is the best way to prove or disprove your theory.
