My car ran out of gas I went to put a can of gas I had I didnt realize the was another substance in there looks like oil or somethn I went to buy a fuel pump replaced it my car isnt starting at all

You may have to drain the tank and flush it out to get rid of the other substance

Yes, change that first, add about 5 gallons and drain it again.
Can you hear the pump working?
