Im having problems with my mechanic, I have 2 questions.I have a 2001 ford taurus sel dohc motor, im having the rack and pinon chanced out but it has taken him 4days already, the one he got today he said he had to take back because it did not have a pressure valve in it, my question is this, he says they all are suppose to have pressure valves, do they. Or do some have them and some dont. My second question is, how long does it require to change one out.

R&R rack rack & pinion book time 3.6hrs/ Does not include alignment. When most shops replace a complete rack and pinion, it comes colmplete ready to put in minus outer ty rod ends. He may have gotten the wrong rack (happens) and had to order the correct part.

Thats what I was thinking ty, but hes saying the Rack doesnt have a pressure valve in it so therefore it wont work, another mechanic was at autozone where I was looking at the rack, said they do not all come with a pressure valve in them, im talking about the valve inside, where u connect the line. Is this true?

Well PROTECH1980, my ex mechanic decided that the new rack should have a pressure valve in it so he took the one out of the old rack and put in it.I dont think theyre made to come out or put in, are they. My wife drove car next morning and guess what. She didnt make it 7miles and blew fluid out everywhere
