Will the knock caused by back pressure on a cat converter clog stop after replacement of converter or is it now permanent? Truck wont drive. I was told that is was caused by back pressure from a bad cat converter. I plan to have this fixed but I didn't want to spend the 1,000 to fix this if the motor is bad now. Will the knock stop once the exhaust is fixed?

Remove the o2 sensor and this will stop the back pressure. Test drive it. This will give u your answer.
