2001 ford escort zx2 I was driving and my car just died so I pulled onto the shoulder and now it wont start. I put coolant in it and noticed a leak. When I checked the level it was completely empty

If there was no coolant in it, you may have engine damage. Check to see if it is getting spark and fuel to the engine, and make sure the timing belt didn't break or strip. If all is good there, check engine compression. NOTE: One good thing is this isn't an interferance engine. Therefore, if the timing belt broke, there shouldn't be any internal engine damage to the valves.
