i found an 03 trans id 3L8p-7000HC my escape is a 01 same motor my id code YL8P-FB he swears it will work no problems my question will it work what changes Ill have to do

I would not recommend it. I'm not sure who he is but anytime you change year and make, there are differences that usually don't work out. My biggest concern is that there are sensors that won't be transferable between the two which will result in TCM incompadabilities. Even if the OEM sensors screw in, pressures will most likely be different and not send the right signals. As a company, we only recommend direct fit parts because changes like this never seem to work.
