I'm working on a Ford E450. The ac is blowing through the defrost only. I understand that this is the default setting. From my research, it is common for a vacuum line to come lose. I took the dog house off on the inside of the bus and found some of the vacuum lines at the back side of the engine near where the transmission connects. There is a red plastic vacuum line that has only one end connected. The other end is not connected and there isn't a rubber boot on it. I started looking to find where the boot was and I can't find it. I did locate a small black plastic cylinder that appears to have the mushroom type end that a boot would slide on to. I am trying to find some sort of diagram so that I can make sure that it is correct. Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you for the response and the diagrams. It is a red line that I'm dealing with. The 2nd diagram with the red line really didn't show much what I was looking for. I am attaching a link of the piece that the red line is coming from. The only place I can see it possibly going to his another cylinder that looks similar and has the two nipples like youll see in the photo. If it does go to the other cylinder, I dont know if it goes on the long nipple or the short one.

Start the engine and see if there is vacuum or not and check the defroster door motor see if it's missing frm there. Then try one of the ones you are talking about and see if truck runs different

There is definitely vacuum on the red line. I knew that prior. As far as the defrost door motor.I can manually operate it to get the door to open and allow air through the front vents, but it drops right back to defrost. I just want to make sure im not going to mess anything up by randomly sliding the vacuum boot over 1 nipple and see what happens.
