Catalytic converter failing?

Truck does not have any power. Not even enough to get it down the road. Running very roughly. Wants to stall out, as well. Hearing rattling noise. Exhaust pipe between cat. And muffler is glowing red hot at cat. End. O2 sensor plugs have begun to melt from heat. Have just replaced crankshaft and camshaft sensors due to getting code P1391. Still get this code when engine light comes on. Are these problems related? Thank you.

Disconnect the exhaust pipe and hang it to the side and test drive for power-sounds like its running too rich

Thakns, rasmataz. Do you mean to disconnect the exhaust pipe before or after the catalytic converter? The exhaust pipe is welded to the converter, so I can disconnect at the manifolds or between the cat. And the muffler.

Have exhaust system checked for an excessive backpressure

1. Excessive fuel pressure can be cause by restricted fuel return line

2. Defective Oxygen Sensors.

3. Leaking injectors and fuel pressure regulator.

4. Coolant temperature sensor out of calibration.

5. Restricted air intake system.
