2001 Dodge Intrepid Timing chain

Okay so today when I was turning the motor clockwise to put the timing chain in the alignment marks I heard the Cain jump over a couple of teethe then the engine didnt turn anymore. What can I do to fix this problem?

This is an interference engine so you just collided the piston into open valves and may have bent them. You have to be very careful when rotating the engine wit no belt or chain on it. Back off the crank and rotate the cam slightly until the engine frees up. You may need to do a leakdown test now to determine if any damage was done.

Okay then so in order for me to move the engine back I would have to take the chain off and go on from there?
