2001 Dakota, V6, Auto, Engine light comes on from time to time. I have reset it by disconnecting the battery, and it would carry on for a while. This has been going on for some time now. Than everything would work good except the head lights would not work, so I would reset it again. Now the Seat belt Buzzer will not stop ringing, but only rings when the turck is moveing.I have had this tuck into the Dealership and another repair shop and have spent over 1000, 00 dalars on it and I am no further ahead.I don't whant to chase this with Hunderd Dalar bills. Can you give me some solid advise. Thanks Jim.

First, when the check engine light comes on it means the computer has something to tell you in the form of a code. You should have the computer scanned, not disconnect the battery to reset it. As long as the computer detects the problem, the light will keep coming on.

As for the lights and buzzer, they're controlled by the body control module, which is a separate computer from the powertrain control module. You could begin by checking all ground circuits and wiring/connectors. But these computers in Chrysler/Dodge have known to go bad. If all else fails, swap it out.
