I have 2001 dodge carvan sport 3.3 engine. Was driving down the road and it buckled once and then no power to the transmission. Rpm gage goes up. Came to a stop checked the dipstick in the transmission said no fluid. Let cool checked again and still no fluid. Put in the correct brand and amount. The van would move in drive but whine and make noises. But no reverse. Let it sit a couple days and now didpstick reads overfilled but didt before and fact said there was no fluid in it. Now when put in gear it wont move. In drive it feels like it is in park. Engine is fine starts fine everything else on van runs fine. No check engine light. No computer codes. No leaks anywhere. Had no warning. Trying to figure out if trans needs rebuilt or replaced? There are some metal shavings in it. This is the only vechile I have to take me to work and the kids I have and really could use some help. And trying to figure what happen with no warning no visible leaks no nothing.

Internal failure. Common on the 4 speed trans. You will most likely have to have it rebuilt.

If the area was not level, it would make sense.

Was level and in neutral like it was suppose to be. Thats why I am so confused with it. Even had the book to it and double checked it before adding more fluids.
