Heater problem
2001 Chrysler PT Cruiser 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

the temperature guage in my pt cruiser stays at cold even after having time to warm up and driving for awhile. In turn it won't produce heat. If I shut it off and turn it back on the temp guage goes up but drops agqin ten minutes later

Hi:
You need to replace the thermostat. When you turn the car off, the coolant is no longer circulating so it heats up. When you start the car, the t-stat is most likely stuck open allowing cool coolant to circulate thus cooling it off quickly.

Let me know if you have questions or if this helps.

Joe
