When I shut my truck off and get out and then go to shut my door I receive a static electric shock, can this be caused by an electrical short in the truck?

It comes from the dry air in the vehicle. It is like rubbing your feet accros a rug in the winter causing static electric. There is a product on the market for static electric. It is in the laundry isle of a supermarket. You can use some on your seats cutting down the static electric.
