What could be causing my car to make this noise and have no power?

I have a 2001 chevy geo metro 3 cylinder 5-speed and it making a terrible noise like a rattling and putt putting kinda sound. And I have no power of acceleration. If im on an incline I lose speed and cant regain it til im level again and its very slow in doing so. Its getting worse

Does not sound good. You need to do a compression test, manual oil pressure test, and a good look at the plugs and wires.
The cat converter needs to be checked as well.
