2000 Volkswagen Jetta 2.0 mileage 83,000. I would like to know if there is a way to reset the check engine light on this model aside from taking it to a dealer and having them reset it with the computer.

Resetting the check engine light requires an OBD II scanner. Any reputable independent automobile repair service with this scanner can reset the check engine light. We recommend buying your own scanner and doing it yourself. You can read and clear your cars trouble codes. With a code scanner you can check for fault codes to find out why the light came on in the first place.
