High idle and cuts off after warming up

My 2000 saturn sl1 will run for a few minutes and then cut off, it also has been idleing very high before it finally goes back down, this happens when it cranks up and when put in and out of gear. A while ago I had it hooked up to a computer and it registered cyl 1 misfiring, but could not figure out what was causing it. Also the cooling fan hasnt worked since I got it, I just cannot sit with it running or it will overheat. I just replaced a coil pack on it and it is still shutting off, not sure if any of this has anything to do with each other but im desperate to get it fixed! Thank you

When it dies while driving will it start right back up?Or do you have to wait a little while for it to restart?If so how long before it restart's?AS far as the high idle and cylinder 1 misfire you could have a vacuum leak at the number 1 intake port. Some 1999 but mostly 2000-2002 SL1 single overhead cam intake gasket's have been known to leak vacuum there. Causing the code high idle and misfire. Does your a/c work?If so turn it on and see if your radiator cooling fan come's on. If not let me know and I will tell you how to trigger the fan to see if it comes on. Also do you have a multimeter?
