According to the Saturn factory manual the 2000 Saturn blower resistor is mounted on the left side of the HVAC module as shown on the HVAC module component location identification diagram, looking from seat side towards the road. Consistent with the factory manual Saturn Document ID# 899105 for 2000 Saturn L100/L200/LW300 says in step 12- Remove glove compartment bin; step 13 says Disconnect the recirculation actuator electrical connector.

Problem is there is no such connector visible. And the resistor is not slid onto the "glove box" as you described because this glove box is removed in step 12.

What you have described may be the instruction for the Saturn SL1 not the L series Saturn and the SL is totally different from the LS. By the way L200 is equivalent to LW1.

With these Saturn resistors I now know what "fire and forget means" like a July 4 firework.

Sorry I miss spoke you don't have to remove the glove box. Its to the left and bellow the glove in the HVAC box. The left meaning as you are looking T the dash. The S model resistors under the top dash panel towards the passenger side and rarely fail on the S model. The body control module you have to pop the glove box loose. But the resistor is in the HVAC box on the passengers side behind where the front the center console ends.

Thank you. Your latest answer makes a lot of sense and I will use it to locate the blower resistor. The Saturn factory manual is entirely miss leading, telling me to remove the glove box for nothing. No wonder other mechanics keep saying " you don't have to remove the glove box".

I noticed from Youtube videos for the Saturn S that its blower resistor has coil resistor elements. Do you know if these "coil" resistors last much longer than my "substrate" printed circuit board resistors? My 1973 Oldsmobile Cutlass blower is still blowing!

Thank you. For helping those of us who got stuck with Saturns when the company is no longer around.

You are appreciated. Don't feel too bad. I bought a 2000 Saturn LW1, a 2004 Ion, was going to buy an Astra except they stopped making them before the big bankruptcy filed by GM.

I worked for Hughes Aircraft which GM bought, sold off piece by piece into non existence!

Thank you for letting me know about the Astra. Did the Saturn S ever make a station wagon or Hatch back? I rely on wagon or hatchback for my family of 5.
