My 2000 gran prix supercharge has oil mixing with the coolant and when you step on the gas the engine knocks. The temp. Gauge is getting hot when you press on the gas as well. It is making a noise in the engine which sounds like a rattle but really loud. What could this possibly be?

I suspect you have a blown head gasket. However, the noise is a concern. Is it more of a knock?

It sounds more like a broken part rattling around and it is misfiring when you step on the gas. I had the plugs and wires replaced, new air filter, fuel pump and fuel filter. Sorry I am not auto savvy, but how much is a head gasket for a supercharge and would you recommend scraping it or fixing it?

It is so easy to listen to a sound and recognize it. However, not being there makes that a little hard. Do you have anyone that could listen to it and determine if it is an engine bearing or lifter?

A head gasket could be around 500.00. Based on where you live that can change.
