I have a 2000 Oldsmobile. It just started making a rattling sound that I believe is coming from a pulley. Also just started throwing what looks to be dirty water or oil off the belt. The water pump pulley don't look lose but a larger pulley below it looks to too big to allow it to come off?

need to change what?

Thanks for this site :-)

Sounds like the water pump. There is a weep hole at the bottom of it that will leak water if the bearing or seal goes bad in the pump. Remove the serp belt and see if there is play in that pulley.

Let me know what you find.
