Brake Light Troubles

Is it possible for a loose cigarette lighter to cause a faulty electrical signal and prevent brake lights from coming on? I got pulled over for having only one brake light working a few days ago. All of my taillight bulbs work when the headlights are on, when I lock my car, but only one works when I use my brakes. Both sets of filaments are intact on all of the bulbs as well. The fuse is still intact. I tried swapping the one brake light bulb that worked to another location and switching the bulbs, and a different single one came on when I hit the brakes. Please help!

Do you have a multimeter? You will need one to figure this one out you will have to see if you are missing the power or the ground side of that brake and go from there.

Cleaned out the bulb plugs and replaced the bulb and they all worked! There was some debris in the wiring probably messing with it. Thanks!
