It does engage in reverse but no movement?

Hi guys, got automatic, 6 cyl, transmission runs forward fine, it does engage in reverse but no movement, you can feel it slowly shift into Reverse, if you press the gas, it will creep backwards a few feet and stops, any ideas greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello,

Can I ask if the reverse lights are working? If not I would replace the gear range sensor on the side of the transmission here is a diagram to help. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what happens.

Thanks for that tip, I had an extra transmission so I took the sensor off to replace it with the one on the truck and it worked thanks for your help. I love this site.
