Battery and oil light flash?

Hello,

The battery light typically comes on indicating that the alternator is not charging the battery properly.
It could be due to a bad alternator, or faulty wiring. Sometimes the battery light itself can malfunction and stay on or flash.
So, the first step would be to test the output of the alternator.

There are two types of oil warning lights. One is for oil level and other is for oil pressure.
Typically, the oil level light will come on due to being low on oil or a bad sensor. So, make sure that the oil is at correct level.
The oil pressure light is due to a fault either the oil pressure of the engine or a bad sensor. Best way to determine that is to test the oil pressure. Which can be done using a test gauge. At idle this engine should have at least 4.5 PSI of oil pressure.

If the pressure is good, then the issue is a bad sensor.
