TIE ROD ENDS
Removal
Turn off air suspension switch (if equipped). Raise and support vehicle. Loosen adjusting sleeve clamp bolts. Remove cotter pins and castle nuts from tie rod ends. Using Tie Rod End Remover (T00L-3290-D), remove tie rod ends from steering knuckles. Unscrew tie rod ends from adjusting sleeves, noting number of turns necessary for installation reference.

Installation

1. Apply penetrating oil to clamps, tie rod threads and adjusting sleeves. Wipe threads clean. Lubricate threads with chassis lube. Install adjusting sleeve clamps. Thread tie rod ends same number of turns required during removal.

2. Ensure both ends are equal distance (within 3 threads) into sleeve. Install castle nuts, using NEW cotter pins. Properly position adjusting sleeve clamps. Lower vehicle and adjust toe-in. Tighten tie rod end clamp nuts to specification.
