The cooling system needs to be pressure tested to locate any leaks. At this point the previous overheating could have caused a blown head gasket but that would not be visible. You may have a freeze plug leaking or something.

Well we didnt put strait anti freeze but it was mostly anaifreeze with some water say about 75/25 because it was running w/o for so long it is staying cool now since the water isnt boiling so easily but we found out the electric fan does not work we hooked it strait to the batt. To test it and it didnt work

They are noted for valve lifter noises very noisy sometimes. An oil additive like LUCAS oil stabilizer may help. High idle could be idle control valve. I read this on internet.I removed the throttle body and cleaned it thoroughly. I also removed the IAC valve from the throttle body and cleaned it too. It was VERY dirty. You have to be sure when you clean the IAC, that you hold it with the spindle pointed down. If you don't, the cleaner will get inside the IAC motor. You also have to clean the port out that the IAC goes into in the throttle body. I also replaced my TPS at the same time. It now runs/idles perfect.
