It has codes for coolant sensor and throttle sensor. Remapped throttle sensor replaced coolant sensor. The shop reset the codes with the chop scanner. The CEL came right back on but no error codes just CEL. Then the shop preformed a hard rest on the car ECU. As soon as the car started the CEL came back on and there were no error codes, just CEL is on. Bad computer or we missing something that would cause this to happen?

Hi,

If the codes are permanent, it may take a few drive cycles for it to clear. Could you let me know what codes were originally present so I can take a look if there is anything different that needs to be done?

As far as the ECM, in most cases, if there is an internal failure, it will set a code indicating that has happened. The idea that you are not seeing any is odd, but as I mentioned, it may simply require a few drive cycles.

Let me know.

Joe
