2000 Ford Windstar solenoid switch

i have been told that i need 3 different solenoid switches for my van i've been having a hard time switching to a different gear my mechanic told me it's not the transmission it's the solenoid switch i went to the parts store for a diagnosis check and it said solenoid problem the guy tells me that i need to replace all my solenoid switches there are three one of them has a filter on it and it cost ninety dollars however another guy said that i need 3 of the same solenoid switches so who's right cause i'm confused i also bought a transmission filter kit too

have a trans guy scan for codes and give a CORRECT opinion
