I have a 2000 ford ranger. My engine light went on a few days before. I started it up, when I put it in gear it jump and dies. Could it be catalytic converter or fuel injection or vacum valve. I need help

You need to have the computer scanned to identify where the problem is coming from. If the check enging light came on, it should be stored in the computer as to where the problem is coming from.

Have that done and let me know what you find. Also, most parts stores will do it for free.
