2000 ford focus zx3 diag. Code 1290. Replaced thermostat but heat guage turns off and on but doesn't over heat. Something to do with Cluster in dash board?

Code indicated fault with Cylinder Head Temp sensor or circuit. See diagram

I had the sensor replaced and code still is 1290

Then need a scan tool to check circuit the PID and PCM

Ok. Dealer said it could be wire cluster behind instruments on dash board. But I cannot find any such connector at stores in area.

Damn Dealers. Thanks I have a quote for one it's 50- 75.00 but they need to take the old one out to get the numbers on it. Is it something I can do or does a professional need to replace this damn connector

Not sure if you can do but one thing to consider if dealer diagnoses and does repair and still have code then ball is in there court to make it right
