2000 Dodge Truck Not starting

Ignition started clicking occasionally before starter engaged, had to jump couple times even tho battery was hot. Eventually got to where starter would spin but truck wouldn't start. Fuel present in fuel rails and pump can be heard. Let truck set day or two or have the mechanic come get it & it starts fine. 2000 ram 5.7

The clicking could be because of a starter going bad. Have the mechanic to check it.
Also, have him to check the fuel pressure (maybe cause of the hard starting when the egine does spin over).
