For the last couple days when the van is cold the chime stays on for around the first 10 minutes of driving.
as soon as it starts to warm up the chime stops.
there are no warning lights and it runs fine, all of the electrical is working as it should.
if the weather is above 40 degrees Fahrenheit the chime will not sound.
the door ajar light and dome lights work when the doors are opened, they shut off when the doors are closed.
if the van is off and I open the door with the key in the ignition the chime sounds but stops like it should when the key is removed, same when headlights are turned on with door open.
i have tested everything that can cause it to chime and everything works.

all fluids are clean and full, the gauges show normal operation.
there is no fuse for the chime and it cannot be removed because it is on the body control module board.
the module was replaced last month because the original one failed completely, the numbers all match.
it only happens if it is very cold out and the van is cold.

The easiest way to solve this is to find a mechanic with a Chrysler DRB3 scanner to view live data from the Body Computer. Under "Inputs / Outputs", it will show every switch and input and their "state". That will show why the computer is requesting the chime. Many independent shops have this scanner because with an extra plug-in card, it will do emissions tests on all car brands starting with '96 models. Many aftermarket scanners have similar capabilities but the DRB3 is the easiest to use.
