2000 Dodge minivan, 3.3 litre. Owner's manual says correct antifreeze is a Chrysler item, meaning buy it from the dealer. Is there an OK substitute among the national brands? I gather 'phosphate free' is an important consideration. Thanks!

'phosphate free' is better, you can use any of the major brands, the important thing is to flush the old coolant out completely, and remember to do the heater core as well, read instructions regarding concentrate levels for the temp that you live in, mixing different coolants is the main problem, so the total flush with clean water is critical.
