Where can the abs codes be read on my 2000 chevy s-10 ls 2.2 engine do I need a special tool or is it old enough where I can use digital vom or an analog vom or anything like that or are there dealers or places that will read them for free/ diagnos the problem. Well problem could be overstated cuz every thing works fine but the paking brake light and abs light sometimes come on then go off then come on till I shut it off then stay away for a while the maybe come back or not for weeks. Im confused?

The codes are read at your OBD2 connector. You will need a abs code reader or as advanced scanner that includes abs code reading function. No flashing codes on that one. The auto parts store probably only have a code reader that can read engine or transmission codes for free. It wouldnt hurt to call and ask around though.

I have not personally used this scan tool but it says Obd2 transmission and engine codes. Also engine live data which is nice. They also says it does 1996-2008 domestic abs and air code reading.Heres the link amazon has it and they have a really good return policy if it doesnt work.I saw another one that does engine live data transmission codes and domestic abs code reading but that one is 200 twice as much as this one.
