I bought a Buick Le Sabre from an old lady and had to replace the whole air conditioning unit since she let it do nothing but sit. I had it looked at today and now pep boys is telling me the evaporator is leaking. I would like to know how to replace the evaporator myself when I get the parts I need! Please describe in detail how to replace just the evaporator. I know I have to remove the dash, so could you please include how to take it apart, install the part, and also how to put everything back together. Thank you!

That covers dozens of pages in the service manual. Your best bet is to get a copy of the manual, read through it, then see if you want to tackle the job. It's a big job that many mechanics don't want to do.

Not the owner's manual. You need the service manual. There may be more than one volume, but the book with the heating and AC section will be about an inch and a half thick. You can usually find one for your year and model on eBay.
