Shifting problems

My car seems to have some transmission shifting problems after the car has been warmed up or after its been used for a few hours?

Is the check engine light on? If so have scanned for any trouble codes stored in the powertrain control module, if trans codes are present, address those codes, saying that if there are no codes and the trans is slipping or shifting erratic, may be time for a visit to the trans shop.
