You know spacer rings for the counter shaft of a gear box of a car? Well if you saw A= 2.20 2.0 1.79 What would the A stand for? Please ignore the vehicle details above they are not correct. Thank you!

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly! I do not know what kind of car unfortunately. I just have a list of spare pieces. The A comes from the "spacer rings" under the heading Counter Shaft..I thought the 2.0 bla bla would be size but why not then use S.

It depends on the manufacturer. The A could be the size within a certain specifications and there could be a B or C as well.

Sounds like spacers are different thicknesses for setting back lash, a model of car would be a great help.
