How to check and add transmission fluid on 99 vw Jetta w/automatic transmission with 6 cylinder motor?

Planetary gearbox fluid
Type .................... VW ATF
VW Part no. .................... G 052 162 A1 (0.5 liter)
VW Part no. .................... G 052 162 A2 (1.0 liter)

Final drive
Type .................... Gear oil SAE 75W-90 (synthetic oil)
VW Part no. .................... G 052 145 A1 (0.5 liter)
VW Part no. .................... G 052 145 A2 (1.0 liter)

This question keeps getting posted on our "To be answered"board.
I can assure you that when it comes to Volkswagons exovcds is an expert. He knows them very well and has given you excellent advice. The most important of which is not to overfilll the transmission.

If it's the 5sp auto tranny. Fluid is added through the same hole that the level is checked on (plug at bottom of pan).

The above instructions were for the 4sp 01M Transmission.
