My battery went dead, bought a brand new one.

My battery went dead, bought a brand new one twos days later it went dead, checked battery with car running it was running at 12.4 volts, changed the alternator for a second hand one twice the battery terminals still read 12.4 when vehicle is runnin, any ideas

What is the charge rate at the terminal (large ) on the alternator, you may have a faulty replacement alt, if it was sitting around for a long time the brushes may be stuck.
