Hi,

Those are your bearing races. Meaning those are the interior parts of the bearings and you most likely need to use a bearing puller to get them off. Then you will need to press the replacements back on.

I reviewed the instructions on this from the manual so unfortunately they only say, "remove bearing."

I will look for a video that shows how to do what you will need to do but in the meantime, you will need to locate a two or three jaw puller. Most parts stores have them and have the proper length jaws that you will need to do both the bearing races.

That is correct. I put a line on the inner race that is still on the spindle. The bearings are the rollers on the inside and the outer most part is called the cage.

You need to either pull them off using a bearing puller or you can take a dremel and a small cutting disc and cut them. However if you go to far and cut the spindle then you will need to replace it so this is the most risky. Another common way is to get a torch and heat the bearing race so that it expands and then use something to pry it off.

Basically, there is no one way. It is an issue that you need to try different things and see what works. I have heard of people welding the arms of the puller to the race because they could not get them to hook and then heating it and pulling it off.

If you are going to try to cut them off, I would suggest trying to just score them about half way through and then take a chisel and try to crack it.

Also, if you are going to try and pry or pull them off, you should soak them overnight with penetrating oil.

Let me know if you can't get it and we can come up with some other ideas.
