1999 Toyota 4Runner Funny Transmission Gear Sound

1. I observe that engine oil dripping by bits from the surrounding engine top cover, what can I do?
2. When I engage my car in the reverse gear, it takes couple of seconds (say 10secs) to engage and when it finally does, some hard knocking sounds spontaneous comes along.
3. My dash board light went off along with the gear light indicator, what should I do?

1. Have the valve cover gasket replaced.
2. The transmission seems to be giving way. You need to have it diagnosed.
3. Check the fuse for the taillight. It could be not working as well.
