I have a 99 Saturn SL2 (150,000 miles) my coolant light is on and it revvs up by itself. It will rev when im in park or at a light/ stop sign. After so many stops at a red light or stop signs it will cut off unless I give it gas. I heard this may be a simple coolant sensor prblem or vacuum hose problem ( I lean towards coolant sensor) just need some reassurance. Thanks

With the dieing and wont starting without giving it gas sounds like a coolant temp sensor not a vacuum leak. The sensors are about 10-12 make sure you inspect your coolant temp sensor connector for having corroded terminals from coolant leaking into it. If the terminals are blue or green replace the connector too. Its very common for the sensors to go bad and connectors to get corroded the sensors leak coolant into the connectors. Also you said your low coolant light is on?If so is your coolant level low?Let me know what you find.
