You probably messed up something in the wiring harness and it's not plugged in properly.

I replaced the multifunction switch because the cruise control quit. The very same problem exists after I changed the switch. Are there other possibilities in the cruise control system?

Outside of the multifunction switch, brake pedal switch, and cruise control module. Are there any other physical components. The local service provider identified the problem at the multifunction switch. I have removed that possibility. Same problem still exists.

Those plus the PCM and all the wiring and power supplies in between. The common mistake these days is assuming everything can be fixed by changing parts. That's not always the issue.
