I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix with 3.1L motor. The climate control fan does not work on the lower settings (1 and 2) and makes a loud noise after 30 seconds on the higher settings (3, 4, and 5). I turn off the fan and the noise goes away. I turn it back on and it returns after 30 seconds. When it is making the noise, the fan quits working. Any suggestions?

I think you have two problems, first you have a bad blower motor resistor (fan only working on 1 n 2). Second problem, you either have a bad blower motor, broken fan cage, or obstruction in air duct next to fan making noise. Replace resistor and pull fan out and inspect, replace if necesary.
