Pontiac Grand Am

I have a 1999 Pontiac Grand Am. The key will not turn in the ignition, the steering wheel is not locked but I can't shift it into neutral.

The key needs to be in the on position to shift into neutral. Try lubericating the tumbler. If that doesn't help, try a different key. If that doesn't help, you will need to check the switch and the linkage to it.
